To Market Well
May 27 is the International Day of Marketing. It’s a day designed to highlight the role of marketing in businesses worldwide and celebrate the profession.
Even those of us who don’t carry “marketing” in our titles are marketers. We advance our companies and products before audiences as large as an industry or as small as a few clients. Being an effective marketer requires a wide range of distinct skills that work together to achieve success.
Late last year, I was privileged to spend time talking about marketing with one of the best, Fernando Diez, vice president of marketing for Vitro Architectural Glass. Our discussion is one of my all-time favorite interviews because Fernando captures every part of the marketing effort—including the joy that comes with a job well done. Many thanks to Fernando for providing such a nuanced look at the profession.
In honor of the International Day of Marketing, I share it with you now.
